IMSAI Series Two Mini Drive Subsystem Enclosure

Here's the perfect solution for adding an external 5 1/4" or 3.5" disk drive or similar device to your old or new PC.  Designed to complement the IMSAI Series Two and IMSAI 8080 microcomputers, it serves equally well when adding an external drive device to a modern PC.  It's available as a basic sheet metal set with mounting hardware and a 3.5" drive mounting kit, or as a deluxe kit with a hefty switching power supply that will work on almost any standard line voltage worldwide.

The design will accommodate almost any 5 1/4" half height or 3.5" drive requirement, allowing you to use floppy drives, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, memory card drives, and any other similar devices.  Slotted mounting holes in the base allow for most variations of drive mounting, and for installation of common drive mounting adapters.

The back panel provides a combination power/switch connector, a cable clamp for connecting to/from external devices, and a cutout for 34-pin IDC panel mount header to allow removable connection with floppy drives without having to remove the connector.  Cables are available separately.  IDE, floppy drive, and power cables may be optionally routed to the drive through the cable clamp as shown below:

Enclosures are supplied with a 3.5" drive mounting kit that includes two side rails, a 5 1/4" bezel with 3.5" drive cutout, drive power adapter cable, card edge-to-double row connector adapter, and mounting screws to accommodate a wide variety of old and new drives.
